How often should I have an eye test?
At least every 2 years, or your Optometrist will advise more frequently if you are a child, or your vision is likely to alter.
What are cataracts?
When the lens inside the eye becomes opaque. You feel as though you are looking through a mist, and your vision will be reduced. Fortunately the majority of operations for cataracts are now quite straightforward and often successful. Should you need a referral, our Optometrists will explain the procedure to you fully, and answer any questions you may have.
What is macular degeneration?
This is the most common reason for the loss of central vision as we age. The central retina (macular) degenerates, and there are different forms. some are treatable, others not. When diagnosed with macular degeneration, careful and regular monitoring by a professional is essential.
how does diabetes affect my eyes?
Diabetes can affect the eyes by damaging the blood vessels in the retina. If left untreated, this can lead to vision loss. This is why regular eye examinations are vital, especially for those diagnosed as diabetic.
